Thank you, Okei - Jeff Dunham is one of my son's favorites. Ian has been studying ventriloquism for a few months now, so I am happy to see more people enjoying the comedy. :) ~ Blessings!
http://kathycustren.multiply.com/journal/item/271/Photo_Share_Ian_on_Stage That's a link to a photo of Ian doing a talent show at his high school. He made his character, "Frankenduck" himself from a stuffed animal, and adjusted the mouth with cardboard to suit him. He also replaced the glassy eyes with Halloweeny ping-pong balls, so with all the bits and parts, that's how he got the name.
He does use it. Ian operates it by putting his hand inside the duck's back and making it move, quite like what you see in the video from Jeff Dunham. He is happy to perform a skit for anyone who agrees to listen--but the jokes he uses can sometimes be rather "punny" (he makes fun of words, or changes their meaning to suit his act). He's learning what is funny and what makes people laugh, that's for sure. ;) ~ Blessings!
Oh I'd love to see him live. He's incredible at his "art"! Don't care how many times I catch him on TV - we always watch him. Repeats and all. Soooo funeee!

ReplyDeleteAmazing stuff! Good luck to Ian!
ReplyDeleteDoes he have a favourite conversation mate? It seems Dunham's is a mascot called Peanut.
ReplyDeleteAlso, does he ever use it in real-life... does it work? Like to answer for someone else, lol.

He is a funny guy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link...
ReplyDeleteYeah, Roddy, he's great.
I'm thinking he could do 2-person jokes... like if X met Y what would they say to each other...
Ah it is a joy to watch him, so much wit and pushing things out of the box, the public keeps applauding.
ReplyDeleteI applaud him too.
Yes, indeed! Laugh-out-loud for real... just to add the video continues here...
ReplyDeleteYup. He's a favorite in our household. I'm a fan of Achmed the Dead Terrorist, my husband likes Walter and my daughter likes Peanut.
ReplyDeleteHe's so talented!
I like Peanut! Well, as in I find Peanut funniest...neeeeeeowww!
ReplyDeleteSuch a coincidence, but I just found that Jeff Dunham is in the UK this week, 24th-28th April. No chance of me seeing him though...
